Stocked Parts
Lindale's median home was built in 1963, nine years earlier than the 1975 median across the rest of the service area. That gap matters more than it sounds. A door opening framed in the early 1960s often runs narrower than what a lot of newer stock doors assume, and the jamb depth can be shallower too, which is why we measure before we quote rather than working off a standard size sheet.
On the income side, Lindale's median household sits at $40,283, well under the broader area's $52,799. That's not a knock on the town, it's just the number that shapes what we lead with. Our default recommendation for a Lindale install is a mid-grade steel door, not the premium insulated line we'll sometimes pitch first elsewhere in the territory. We still carry the higher-end options and will install them if that's what you want, but we don't assume that's the budget.
What we don't stock on the truck: custom wood doors and anything needing a special-order panel width. Those have to be ordered ahead, and if your opening is non-standard because of the home's age, expect that to add a few days to the timeline rather than a same-visit install.
How Long It Takes
Lindale sits about 5 miles from our shop in Rome
So getting a crew out here isn't a special trip, it's a short one. That doesn't change how long the install itself takes, but it does mean we're not padding your quote with drive time the way a company based further out would have to.
- 5 miles
A standard double-door swap, once the door's on site, usually runs a single day
What stretches it is the climate spec. This area sits in a cold-moderate band, and we default to a two-inch insulated section even on our mid-grade line rather than a thinner single-wall panel, because an uninsulated door in a Georgia winter still lets more cold into an attached garage than most owners expect. That's a slightly longer order lead time on some models, not a longer install day.
What we can't promise is a same-day job if your opening turns out to be non-standard once we're on site measuring
If the header height or width doesn't match a stock size, we'll order the right door and come back, rather than forcing a fit that won't seal or track right.
The Complications
The complication in Lindale isn't the door, it's the house behind it. With most of the housing stock here dating to the early 1960s, we regularly find original framing that was never built to modern torsion hardware specs. Track brackets mounted to a header that's thinner than today's code assumes, or a center support beam placed for a lighter single-layer door than what's standard now. None of that is unusual for a home this age, but it means a straight swap sometimes turns into a small carpentry fix first.
Across the wider service area there are 6,489 owner-occupied houses we draw install jobs from, and the pattern holds broadly: older stock means more framing surprises than a subdivision built in the 2000s. Lindale's smaller size, at 1,775 households, means we don't have a deep bench of past jobs here to draw patterns from the way we might in a bigger pocket of the territory, so we go in assuming nothing and measuring everything.
One honest limit: if the opening needs structural header work beyond adding a support bracket, that's outside what a door install covers. We'll tell you straight if a job has crossed into carpentry or framing territory and point you to get that handled first.
Booking a Visit
Because Lindale is close enough to Rome to measure and quote in the same visit, we don't need a separate scheduling process for it. Tell us the door width you think you have and roughly how old the house is, and we'll bring options sized for that era rather than showing up with a one-size catalog.
If you're not sure whether your opening is standard or not, that's fine. The home's age is the bigger signal than anything else, and a 1960s build is reason enough for us to bring a tape measure before we bring a door. We'd rather catch a non-standard header on the first visit than on install day.
